Pacificans Care Reads-Aloud

Pacificans Care Reads-Aloud

Ever heard of “The Good Egg,” “A Duck Named Brian,” “The Giraffe, the Pelly and Me” or “Once Upon a Cool Motorcycle Dude”?

Those are the books Pacificans Care board members and Champions selected to read during the recent Pacifica School Volunteers Read-Aloud program at Vallemar School. Readers shared their stories in kindergarten through 8th grade classrooms to the delight of engaged children sitting on the edge of the seats listening to every word!

For Pacificans Care, the Read-Aloud event, organized by Pacifica School Volunteers, fulfilled a board commitment to engage in giving back to the community through selected days of community service. Special thanks to happy Pacificans Care board member readers Janine Galligani, Bill Michaelis, Christine Stahl, and Xenia Gholli, and Champions Joy Hitzman, Lois Marshall-Ward, Sue Vaterlaus, and Robin Jaquith.

Pacificans Care Partners with Dolly Parton!

Pacificans Care Partners with Dolly Parton!

Pacificans Care, through the Foundation for San Mateo County Libraries, will soon fund the Dolly Parton Imagination Library for all preschool children enrolled in Pacifica Child Care Services programs.
Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, started in 1995, is a book-gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth to age five, no matter their family’s income. The library books are specially selected, age-appropriate, high-quality books delivered to preschoolers each month. The books are personalized with the child’s name and mailed directly to the child’s home to create a gifting experience that makes books exciting and shows the child someone is thinking of them.
Pacificans Care is delighted to provide this exciting opportunity that inspires a love of books and reading for all Pacifica’s Child Care Services preschoolers.

Kathy and Stan have truly given back, making Pacifica a better place for all of us.
