Services We SupportPacificans Care provides annual grants to Pacifica’s four core social service agencies: the Pacifica Youth Service Bureau, Pacifica Resource Center, Pacifica Senior Services, and Pacifica Child Care Services. This year, thanks to Pacifica’s generous donors, Pacificans Care contributed $99,500, in 2022 for services that significantly improve the lives of Pacifica’s children, youth, families,
and seniors.

Pacifica Child Care Services

Pacifica Child Care Services provide quality child care for families utilizing developmentally appropriate curriculum and practices in a warm, caring environment to enhance each child’s physical, social, intellectual and emotional development. Funds from Pacificans Care provide summer enrichment and educational programs including swim lessons and field trips for children who would otherwise be unable to attend.
Pacifica Resource Center

The Pacifica Resource Center will continue to provide over 40,000 services to 1,200
unduplicated households, increasing the financial stability of 1 in 10 Pacifica Families, preventing and reducing homelessness in Pacifica, and continuing monthly grocery deliveries to at least 150 Pacifica families. When families and individuals have the resources needed to maintain their households, they are less likely to become homeless and less likely to develop stress-related health issues, resulting in a healthier, happier, and more stable Pacifica.

The Pacifica Resource Center will continue to provide over 40,000 services to 1,200 unduplicated households, increasing the financial stability of 1 in 10 Pacifica Families, preventing and reducing homelessness in Pacifica, and continuing monthly grocery deliveries to at least 150 Pacifica families. Pacifica Senior Services

The Pacificans Care Emergency Fund grant to Pacifica Senior Services in now helping to serve up to 200 Grab and Go lunches a day to seniors who pick up, what may be their substantial meal of the day, from the center and has provided 130 $50 grocery gift certificates for Meals on Wheels clients and Shopping Assistance program generously provided by Oceana Market and matched Pacificans Care.
Pacifica Resource Center

The Pacificans Care Emergency Fund grant to the Pacifica Resource Center is covering installation costs for a container-size refrigerator unit to store produce and grocery items for food deliveries to over 200 Pacifica families and emergency rental or mortgage assistance to families in need as a result of job loss.
Pacifica Child Care Services
$5,500
Pacifica Child Care Services was able to provide subsidized pre-school child-care program families with seventy $50 grocery certificates from Oceana Market and forty $50 grocery gift cards from Grocery Outlet for school age program families. Certificates and cards were matched with funds from the Pacificans Care Emergency Fund.
Jefferson Union High School District Student Assistant Program

130 Pacifica high school students at Terra Nova High School are receiving breakfast and lunch Jefferson Union High School District Student Assistance Program through the Pacificans Care Emergency Fund grant.
Parks, Beaches and Recreation Department Summer Adventure Camp

The emergency fund grant supports the Parks, Beach and Recreation Department, Summer Adventure Camp program serving 96 Pacifica children and youth. The camp program has been modified to comply with mask wearing and social distancing requirements while providing a place where campers can make friends, learn, and have fun.
